• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 3 B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Daniel Tesch, Director of Administration <br />MEETING DATE: 28 December 2009 <br />TOPIC: City of Lino Lakes and AFSCME Local 2454 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 315 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The collective bargaining agreement between the City and AFSCME Local 2454 <br />expires 31 December 2009. We have negotiated a tentative agreement for 2010 which <br />extends the provisions in the existing contract with the following adjustments: <br />• No cost of living adjustment for 2010 <br />• 80 hours of unpaid voluntary salary saving leave <br />In consideration of employee concessions towards 2010 budget relief, the union has <br />included a clause that no additional layoffs take place within this unit in 2010. <br />Everyone realizes that uncertainties loom for 2011_ This is therefore a one year <br />agreement. <br />AFSCME members will be voting on this proposal the week of 28 December. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the attached draft Memorandum of Understanding. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Memorandum of Understanding. <br />
