These areas included: forecasts, <br />housing, land use, parks, and transportation. City staff and consultants met with Metropolitan <br />Council staff on September 30, 2009 to discuss the incomplete items and the necessary <br />information to submit in response to the incomplete letter. At the meeting, city representatives: <br />■ confirmed with Metropolitan Council staff that the city is using the System Statement <br />forecasts for population and households and the revised employment forecasts agreed to <br />in 2007/2008, <br />submitted revised socio - economic forecasts allocated to Transportation Analysis Zones <br />(TAZs), <br />agreed to provide additional information regarding the net acres guided for Mixed Use, <br />and <br />agreed to provide additional information regarding existing and proposed regional trails. <br />The purpose of this letter is to respond to the incomplete items by providing supplemental <br />information for your review that was discussed at the September 30, 2009 meeting. The revised <br />pages from the Comprehensive Plan update that contain the supplemental information are <br />enclosed. <br />Excerpts from the Metropolitan Council comments are shown in italics and are followed by the <br />City's response to the information request. <br />Forecasts, Housing, and Transportation <br />Met Council Comments: In 2007 and 2008, Council staff and City staff discussed revisions of <br />population and household forecasts. The Update presents a land use plan and TAZ forecast <br />allocation partly consistent with what was agreed upon in 2008. However, elsewhere in the <br />Update, the City has reverted to the System Statement forecasts, which assume lower levels of <br />
