The numbers from the UCR are historically available from their respective agencies and online from the BCA. It is apparent that if a more in -depth analysis is to be completed more time will be needed to obtain accurate city related data. The Washington County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) provides the city of Hugo with the equivalent of 1 deputy 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The contract for 2010 with Hugo and WCSO is $581,000. The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office (RCSO) provides the city of Shoreview with the equivalent of 2 deputies 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The 2010 contract with Shoreview and RCSO is $1,597,000. An in depth analysis of public safety expenditures and revenues would entail details beyond the scope of this report therefore a copy of the Lino Lakes Police Department Annual Report is attached. The Annual Report provides an example of expenditures and revenues which include the estimated value of volunteer service to the Lino Lakes community through the police department. The expense of running a public safety agency is offset to varying degrees based upon the revenue generated by state reimbursement for officers, federal and state grants, event expense reimbursement (Eagle Brook, wedding dances, Blue Heron Days etc.) as well as revenues from the court system and school district. The revenues and expenditures are outlined in the 2010 budget document. This information will be shared with the city council as soon as it is received from Hugo and/or WCSO.
