• <br />To: <br />From: <br />Date: <br />WORK SESSION MEMORANDUM <br />City Council <br />Rick DeGardner <br />January 18, 2006 <br />WS -1 <br />Re: Super Rink Request — Centennial Youth Hockey Association (CYHA) <br />Representatives from the CYHA have requested to be placed on the work session agenda <br />to present their proposal for a partnership with the cities of Lino Lakes, Circle Pines, and <br />Centerville for the construction of an indoor hockey rink at the National Sports Center. <br />City staff has attended some of the Super Rink Expansion Advisory Board meetings and <br />has met with Ms. Lisa Hockert, President of CYHA, and Mr. Paul Erickson, Executive <br />Director of the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC). Ms. Hockert and Mr. <br />Erickson have prepared a presentation for the council's consideration. While staff <br />certainly feels that this is a worthwhile and needed project, we have been very <br />straightforward with the current financial situation the city of Lino Lakes currently faces. <br />For example, we have indicated that the 2006 General Fund Budget has already been <br />adopted and there are zero dollars in the city's contingency fund. <br />1/12/2006 <br />J: \Ricks Folder \Correspondence \Cen Hockey funding 1- 06.doc <br />
