The guarantee begins on the <br />date of the Landscape Architect's or Owner's written acceptance of the initial planting. Replacement <br />plant materials shall also have a one year guarantee commenting upon planting. <br />The Owner shall be responsible for maintenance after the Owner's acceptance of the work. <br />All plants are to be northern grown and hardy. <br />Plants to be installed as per standard MN planting practices. <br />Use existing. indigenous soil for backfill material in tree planting holes and pulverized topsoil for <br />backfill material material in shrub planting holes, see planting details for depths. Use a soil mix of <br />1 -1 -1 (puNenzed topsoil, sand, peat moss) for perennial beds, installed at a minimum depth of 12 ". <br />II is the Contractor's responsibility to verify locations with all utilities prior to any site work including: <br />grading, installation of plants and irrigation system. <br />All sod areas shall be irrigated with an automated underground sprinkler system. All additional <br />landscaped areas shall be irrigated with either spray heads or with 'leaky pipe', as appropriate to the <br />plant type. Seeded areas do not require irrigation. <br />Staking of trees is optional although the Lanscepe Contractor is responsible to reposition any trees <br />that are not plumb within the one year warranty period. <br />Wrap all smooth- barked trees and fasten at top and bottom. Remove by April 1. <br />Open top of buriap on BB materials, remove pot from potted plants and gently loosen roots if needed. <br />Prune plants as necessary per standard nursery practice. <br />Plants shall be immediately planted upon arrival at site. Propedy heel in material B necessary <br />(temporary only). <br />All disturbed areas are to be either sodded or seeded as noted. Sod shall be northern grown and <br />hardy. A 4" (depth) layer of topsoil shall be installed in all areas to be sodded. <br />Planting beds for shrubs and perennials shall have 5.5" (vertical) black poly edging (commercial <br />grade), weed barrier fabric or poly barrier and mulch. The edging shall be placed and staked with <br />smooth curves. See landscape plan(s) for depth and type of mulch. <br />Shredded hardwood mulch shall be provided around all installed trees at a depth of 4" and a diameter <br />of 4' (min .). <br />SOD / SEEDING & IRRIGATION NOTES: <br />All disturbed areas are to be either sodded or seeded as noted on the landscape plan(s). <br />• Sod shall be northern grown and hardy. A 4" (depth) layer of pulverized topsoil shall be incorporated <br />into all areas to be sodded by mtotilling and grading smooth. <br />• Sod areas and landscaped areas (including berms) are to be irrigated with an automated imtgation <br />system.
