A P R— 2 2— 9 i T U E T 2 E. A L P H A ti:' Z D E c
April 22, 1997
Daniel Tesch
City of Lino Lakes
1189 Main Street
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
Dear Daniel,
_ 0 2
7711 Computer Avenue
Edina, MN 66436 -6404
(612) 896 9898
FAX (612) 896 -9899
After our conversation regarding a new video system for your City Council Chambers yesterday
afternoon, I went back and looked at our proposal for the City of Lino Lakes. Several things
came to mind regarding installation costs in your current facility and potential installation costs at
a new City Hall. We feel that there are several benefits to moving ahead with the complete
video system at this time, while minimizing future costs.
First and foremost, you receive the benefit of being able to use new technology to enhance the
manner In which you communicate with the citizens of Lino Lakes. The system we have
proposed for you is a quantum leap in terms of both quality and features as compared to your
current system. These dramatic improvements will make cablecast events from City Hall far
more compelling to the viewer than what your current system can offer.
In terms of installation costs, the greatest costs are incurred when a new system is installed,
Irregardless of whether it is into existing or new facility. Once a system is installed, it can be
easily, and rather inexpensively, moved to a new facility. In a new construction, we can consult
with both you and your architect in order to facilitate the proper placement of fixtures, power,
cabling. etcetera to help minimize installation costs. In addition, many components of the
Installation that now have to be retro - fitted (i.e. running cables through walls), can be
accomplished during construction, again holding any installation costs down. We estimate that
an installation Into a new City Hall would only be in the neighborhood of $2,500 -3,500 in addition
to your initial Installation fees. Alpha Video has done several system moves in the past,
Including 5 different cities in the Ramsey- Washington County Cable District, all to the cities
satisfaction.
In closing, we at Alpha Video feel that we have designed an excellent system for your existing
City Hall that benefits both the City of Lino Lakes and its constituents. However, it has also been
designed for future expansion, and/or installation into a future City Hall complex for a nominal re-
installation fee. Our list of municipal clients who have had video installations done by Alpha
Video range from large to small and include the cities of: Blaine, Richfield, Woodale, Lakeville,
Savage, Circle Pines, New Brighton, Oakdale, Watertown and Big lake Just to name a few_
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. Whether It is now or in the future, we look
forward to the opportunity to assist you on this project and add you to our list of satisfied clients.
Sincerely,
-le bey Volk
Account Executive
