• <br />• <br />• <br />(1) Objectives to be completed in 2006: <br />(a) Identify issues that need to be addressed in <br />the charter (council /staff assigned this task) <br />(b) Conduct independent review of the issues <br />and requirements for change (possibly <br />involve the services of a consultant who can <br />assist in this process) <br />(c) Meet with Charter Commission to conduct a <br />dialogue on these issues. (Dialogue will <br />involve council, charter commission, city <br />staff, consultant) <br />(d) Establish an appropriate course of action for <br />making charter amendments /revisions. <br />(2) Objective for 2007: <br />(a) Implement course of action depending upon <br />2006 outcomes (council and charter <br />commission will implement this course of <br />action jointly, as appropriate). <br />Other considerations to be addressed in <br />implementing this goal include: <br />• Citizen communications and involvement <br />• Funding for the process <br />• A spirit of community building and teamwork. <br />d. Goal: Complete the following: <br />• Community visioning process <br />• Updating the city's Comprehensive Plan <br />• Adopting a Redevelopment and Revitalization <br />Plan. <br />e. Goal: Recreation <br />• Determine and complete priority recreation and <br />trail projects <br />• Determine how City wants to deal with the <br />recreation complex priority <br />
