Because the final definition of the three goals held in abeyance <br />may necessitate having information from the Community <br />Visioning Process, council should move forward quickly on <br />deciding how this process will be conducted and the schedule for <br />completing it. <br />B. Longer -Term Actions <br />1. After completion of the Financial Analysis Mini - Retreat and <br />possibly the Community Visioning Process, the council and staff <br />should complete the preparation of the goals which have been <br />identified to be held in abeyance. Once this is done, the council <br />will have the information necessary to adopt the Goals and <br />Management Action Plan for 2006 -2007 in its entirety. <br />2. The communications effort started in recognition of a Basic <br />Operating Principle the council will pursue should be implemented <br />as quickly as possible and continued assertively as an on -going <br />communications commitment from the council to the community. <br />The communications effort should utilize as many channels as <br />appropriate to reach the entire Lino Lakes community so that <br />citizens have access to easily attainable and accurate information <br />about what the city and its council are doing. <br />3. The City Council Guidelines and other policies pertaining to the <br />conduct of council business should be adhered to with consistency <br />and conviction. Additionally, they should be subject to periodic <br />review, at least annually, to insure their currency and effectiveness <br />in furthering council's ability to be a productive governing body. <br />18 <br />
