He stated there were no playgrounds within a reasonable distance for <br />the children in the neighborhood. <br />Diane Lange, 6449 Hokah Drive, stated she was concerned about the traffic issues, <br />especially around the Arrowhead area. She st ated the image of the City of Lino Lakes <br />was not represented by this medium density townhome development. She stated she had <br />moved to the City because of the open spac e and she stated she was worried about the <br />overpopulation of the area, as well as the increases in tra ffic, and the pollution. She <br />asked them to look at the area and asked if the townhomes fit into the look of the area. <br />Mr. Lyden stated he would like to se e a development without the PUD. <br />Mr. Corson made a MOTION to close the public hearing 7:57 p.m., and was supported <br />by Mr. Lyden. Motion carried 5-1 (Lyden). <br />Greg Schlink, Bruggeman Properties, stated they had made adjustments to this plan for a <br />lower use on the commercial property. He stated he believed the plan they were <br />presenting now was a good plan that f it into the City’s requirements. <br />Mr. Tralle stated he wanted this devel opment have the look and feel of a neighborhood. <br />He stated while he agreed this project was a great improvement over the original plan, he <br />wanted to see a variety of color in the si ding and shingles. Mr. Schlink reviewed the <br />types and colors of materials they were proposing to use for this development. <br />Mr. Schlink stated he would like to come back with more detail on the exterior materials <br />and colors to see if it would meet with th e Board’s requirements. Chair Schaps also <br />expressed concern about having all of the townhomes look the same. <br />Mr. Schlink stated they would change the el evations to address the Board’s issues. <br />Mr. Corson asked about the private park vers us a public park. Mr . Schlink replied the <br />Park Board’s concern was that there was not enough public access to the park. <br />Mr. Corson asked if the park would be m onitored. Mr. Schlink replied it would be <br />private property and it would be up to the To wnhome Association as to how it would be <br />enforced. He stated they did not have a ny problem with the park being public and they <br />would be willing to have it as a public park. <br />Mr. Corson noted there was not another park in the area and it would be nice to have a <br />park for the residents. Mr. Lyden pointed out this would be consistent with the <br />comprehensive plan to have a neighborhood focal point if the park was public. <br />Chair Schaps asked how they could recommend a public park if the Park Board <br />recommended against it. Mr. Smyser replie d the Park Board had a serious discussion <br />regarding this and if it were going to be a public park, the Board was not comfortable <br />with the design of the park. He noted it was an isolated area and it was not a space <br />conducive to public use. He stated if there were going to be a pub lic park on the site, it
