•
•
AGENDA ITEM 111
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Julie Bartell, City Clerk
MEETING DATE: May 8, 2006
TOPIC: Resolution No 06 -74, Approving a new fireworks
Permit for Lino Lakes Quik Stop
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5
BACKGROUND
The City has received an application from Q. S. Inc. requesting a permit to sell
fireworks at their Lino Lakes Quik Stop facility located at 6501 Ware Road. With the
permit application, the City has received verification of the required liability insurance
and a letter from the building landlord granting permission to sell fireworks at that
location. In turn, the applicant has been provided with a copy of the City's regulations
concerning the sale, possession and use of consumer fireworks (City Ordinance No.
06 -02), as well as a copy of the State's regulations including information on what can
be sold.
The application has been reviewed by both the fire marshal and the police department
and they have indicated no reason to deny the permit request.
OPTIONS:
1. Approve Resolution No. 06 -74 authorizing issuance of an annual permit for
the sale of consumer fireworks to Q.S. Inc., d /b /a Lino Lakes Quik Stop.
2. Deny Resolution 06 -74.
