The second largest block of training included First Responder Refresher, Intoxilyzer Recertification, Active Threat Team training, Use of Force, County Attorney Update on new legislation enacted during the last legislative session, Defensive Tactics, Street Survival and motorcycle training. Most training is provided and conducted by Lino Lakes Police Department trainers whose areas of expertise include: 800 MHz, Community Policing, Ethics, Leadership, Motorcycle, Taser, Rifle, Active Threat and Use of Force training. The second major source of training was from Anoka County Customized Training which included a night shoot, spring shoot, summer shoot, fall shoot and Gamma shoot. Many officers attended specialized training through Century College. Field Training Program Field Training Officers are trained to provide uniform and detailed documentation of the officer's progress. New officers go through 13 weeks of training which is divided into five training and /or evaluation "Phases ". All phases are with a different Field Training Officer. Upon successful completion of field training, the officers go from probationary officer in training to solo patrol as a probationary officer for a period of one year.
