The second largest block of training included First Responder Refresher, Intoxilyzer <br />Recertification, Active Threat Team training, Use of Force, County Attorney Update on new <br />legislation enacted during the last legislative session, Defensive Tactics, Street Survival and <br />motorcycle training. <br />Most training is provided and conducted by Lino Lakes Police Department trainers whose areas of <br />expertise include: 800 MHz, Community Policing, Ethics, Leadership, Motorcycle, Taser, Rifle, <br />Active Threat and Use of Force training. The second major source of training was from Anoka <br />County Customized Training which included a night shoot, spring shoot, summer shoot, fall shoot <br />and Gamma shoot. Many officers attended specialized training through Century College. <br />Field Training Program <br />Field Training Officers are trained to provide uniform and detailed documentation of the officer's <br />progress. New officers go through 13 weeks of training which is divided into five training and /or <br />evaluation "Phases ". All phases are with a different Field Training Officer. Upon successful <br />completion of field training, the officers go from probationary officer in training to solo patrol as a <br />probationary officer for a period of one year. <br />Lino Lakes Police Department 2005 Annual Report 26 <br />
