• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />AUGUST 14, 2006 <br />Consider Resolutions No. 06 -126 through 129, Approving Special Event Requests for Various <br />Events being Held in Conjunction with the Blue Heron Days (carnival, pole vaulting, American <br />Legion picnic, and VFW outdoor event), Julie Bartell — City Clerk Bartell stated the annual Lino <br />Lakes community festival, Blue Heron Days, is scheduled for the weekend of August 18 -20, 2006. <br />The community festival planning committee presented the City with a final schedule of events <br />enabling staff to review those activities for the festival weekend. <br />City Clerk Bartell advised the City has received four additional special event permit applications for <br />the Children's Carnival, pole vaulting, family picnic at the American Legion and food, fun and games <br />at the Circle Lex VFW. She noted the pole - vaulting event (Res. No. 06 -127) has been cancelled. <br />City Administrating Heitke noted the City Council would be participating in the parade on Saturday, <br />August 19, 2006. <br />Council Member Reinert moved to approve Resolution No. 06 -126, Resolution No. 06 -128, and <br />Resolution No. 06 -129, as presented. Council Member Stoltz seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA <br />National Night Out Proclamation — Chief Pecchia advised National Night Out was designed to <br />heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local anticrime <br />efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police - community relations and send a message to <br />criminals letting them know ,neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. <br />Chief Pecchia read the National Night Out Proclamation and requested the Council acknowledge the <br />citizens of Lino Lakes for their support of National Night Out. <br />Council Member Carlson moved to approve and support the National Night Out Proclamation, as <br />presented. Council Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Consider Resolution No. 06 -122, Accepting a Donation from Final Stretch, Inc. for National <br />Night Out Supplies — Chief Pecchia requested the Council publicly accept and thank the Final <br />Stretch, Inc. for their generous donation to the City of Lino Lakes. <br />Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve Resolution No. 06 -122, as presented. Council <br />Member Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Consider Resolution No. 06 -123, Accepting a Donation from Target for National Night Out <br />Supplies — Chief Pecchia requested the Council publicly accept and thank Target for their general <br />donation to the City of Lino Lakes. <br />Council Member Carlson moved to approve Resolution No. 06 -123, as presented. Council Member <br />Stoltz seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />3 <br />
