2011 Reconstruction Feasibility Study
The feasibility study is intended to prepare a preliminary design and costs estimates for
third road reconstruction project. The areas proposed for improvement include the
Shenandoah 2nd and 3'd Additions as well as LaMotte Drive and LaMotte Circle. The
project is anticipated for construction in 2011 and is dependent on majority consent of
benefited property owners and voter approved referendum.
The estimated cost of the study is $50,000. The study is proposed to be funded by the
City's General Fund.
CSAH 23 /CSAH 14 Intersection Reconstruction
The City is currently working with Anoka County to advance improvements to the
intersection of CSAH 23 (Lake Drive) and CSAH 14 (Main Street). The project is
currently unfunded. In 2007 the City supported Anoka County's application for Federal
Hazard Elimination Funds for intersection improvements. Additionally, with City
support, the County has applied for federal funding to reconstruct Lake Drive from 77th
through the Main Street intersection. If awarded these projects would be initiated in
2011. Due to the severe congestion present at this location the City and County are
preparing for the potential need for temporary improvements.
The total estimated cost of temporary improvements is approximately $750,000. The
City's share is estimated at $100,000. The project is proposed to be funded by Municipal
State Aid.
CSAH 14/35E Interchange Reconstruction
The project was awarded federal transportation dollars for construction in 2009. Final
Design of the interchange is expected to be completed in 2008.
The total estimated project cost is $20,000,000. The City's share is estimated at
$5,000,000. The project is proposed to be funded by Municipal State Aid and special
assessments to developing properties.
CI-4
FT
•
•
•
