monitors goals. <br />8. Markets the Department and its programs using a variety of media resources including <br />Cable Channel 16, local newspaper, city newsletter, website and public presentations; <br />updates the Public Safety website. <br />9. Coordinates the training and educational opportunities for volunteers and members of the <br />public and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) with the Lino Lakes <br />Public Safety Department. <br />10. Performs related work as assigned or apparent. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />1. Knowledge of effective management and supervision of employees and volunteers. <br />2. Knowledge of the equipment, practices, principles, methods and techniques utilized with <br />volunteers in the police service and in modern police work. <br />• <br />3. Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive reports and presentations for the chief, <br />council, or staff. <br />4. Knowledge of state statute and city ordinances regarding public safety practices, <br />procedures and nuisance enforcement. <br />5. Knowledge of computer software, applications and hardware to include Windows <br />applications, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, LEADRS. <br />6. Knowledge of the development and administration of budgets. <br />7. Knowledge of the regulations concerning the distribution and retention of confidential <br />information. <br />8. Ability to handle emergency and stressful situations with tact and discretion <br />9. Knowledge of the geography of the City. <br />10. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. <br />11. Ability to communicate as well as establish and maintain effective working relationships <br />with supervisors, co- workers and members of the public. <br />• <br />
