Attachment 4 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />TITLE: Lead Records/ Evidence Technician <br />DEPARTMENT: Public Safety <br />DIVISION: Records <br />SUPERVISOR: Community Relations Coordinator <br />STATUS: Full- time /non- exempt /AFSCME <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br />The primary objectives of this position are to perform a variety of clerical and secretarial support <br />services to include the processing and maintaining of confidential information within the Records <br />Division of the Public Safety Department. This position also assists with the storage, <br />preservation, disposition and disposal of evidence and property. Oversee the Records <br />Management System (RMS) and serves as Terminal Agency Contact. <br />ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS <br />1. Responds to customers at the service window or on the telephone. Gathers information, <br />determines if the request is urgent or of a confidential nature, refers to appropriate staff <br />member. <br />2. Performs general clerical duties such as word processing, transcription, preparing routine <br />correspondence and weekly news article, processing alarm billings, copying, maintaining <br />calendar of court dates, filing, orders office supplies, contacts office equipment <br />technicians, faxing and mailing. <br />3. Enters and/or retrieves confidential information from County and Federal databases for <br />processing criminal histories, background checks, driver's license checks, accident and <br />property loss records. <br />4. Maintains files and records, including criminal and civil case files and police reports. <br />Also assists officers by compiling reports for court appearances. <br />5. Processes, files and distributes routine reports and tickets to the Clerk of Courts, City <br />Attorney, County Attorney, CID and related agencies. <br />6. Organizes and maintains locked evidence room and related files. <br />7. Receives all property and evidence coming into the Property/Evidence Room and ensures <br />that evidence and property is packaged and documented according to department policy - <br />including special protocols for bio- hazardous materials. <br />• <br />• <br />
