National Night Out- On August 7, 2007, the entire Limo Lakes Police Department gathered for <br />roll call.: at 5:00.; Twenty three other groups joined us to visit neighborhood gatherings. Every <br />vehicle was loaded with 3 -4 people, along with Frisbee flyers to e to the children and <br />crime prevention materials for the adults. Each vehicl assigned to visit certain parties and. <br />by 5. :30 they were`off and running. Thousands of citizensgathercd at 44 different parties (an <br />additional 11 partiesfrom 2006) <br />Kids playing with Mc( Grulton National Night out. <br />A highlight of National Night Out 2007 was creating a community service project that would <br />benefit local citizens. Since it Was so close to the start of school, officers came up with the idea <br />of helping local needy children go hack to school with all the school supplies they needed. We • <br />namedthe protect `Pack a Backpack' and ��c asked each block party to collect school supplies <br />at their National Night Out events. The neighborhoods collected thousands of school supplies <br />and a huge' number of backpacks. The generositv of the citizens n as overghelmituf and they <br />Helped over 250 local needy families. <br />National Night Out 2007 proved to be a huge success and the connections that were made that <br />night between the residents the City of Lino Lakes. IVLvT and the Lino Lakes Police Depart -_ <br />meet will serve to prevent crime and strengthen our Community Oriented Police philosophy. <br />
