Youth Safety Camp = The Youth Safe--,' Camp increases a id's kno\ ge an V a eness of <br />all aspects of safety, While providing a fun experience. The camp is set in an informative and <br />fun environment The 2007 Youth Safety Camp vvas the 140 annual Lund the fact it «as full to <br />capacity is a tribute to its ongoing popularity. The program is intended for children entering 4 <br />grade. This past year we once again offered it to 150 campers. Conducting the camp is 0 joint <br />effort between Police, Fire and Parly.s dRecreation Departments. Held the second Thursday <br />in August, the-program increases a blinds knowledge and awareness of all aspects of safcty, <br />«'hile havrng a fun experience. The subject matter covered at the camp includes: first -aid, bike. <br />fire, drug; water, personal, electrical, and outdoor safety. `The camp is set in an informative. but <br />fun and-exciting atmosphere. The camp fee of $10.00 includes lunch, shirt, special <siveaways <br />and an awards ceremony at the end of the day. <br />Neighborhood Crime Watch -lt is essential that all citizens of Lino Lakes be ativarc of the impor- <br />tance of crime prevention programs and the impact that residents can have on reducing crime <br />and drug abuse in their community. <br />Neighbors ere urged to start or join a Crime Watch group in their neighborhood. Crime can <br />shatter a neighborhood and create a climate of fear Lund mistrust. People may withdraw into <br />their homes. There as isolation increases, so does crime. Crime Watch <br />groups leLun vsays to kce feirhomes and neighborhoods secure. We <br />pro ide a iuonthly neusle: er "10 -8" to keep our Neighborhood Watch <br />r oups_informed about the criminal activity in their neighborhoods, vidc, public safety related in forma . and an update on the activities of <br />'i tl eizpolice department. <br />
