Child Passenwer Safety -In an effort to assist parents and children in makingri v ehicular trav el safer, the Lino Lakes Police' Departmentparticip=ated in training several officers as Child Safety Seat Technicians. The completed training in the proper installation and use of child safety seats and,restramt systems in vehicles. Offrcers assisted area parents and answered fre- quently asked questions regarding child passenger safety. Child Safety Seat Clinics were held at various times throughout the community. LLPD Roll Call Cable: TV Show - A cable television show produced by the Lino Lakes Police Department to help educate the public on safety issues shown, on North Metro Cable 15. Teen Driver Class -The Lino Takes Police Department offered a free seminar for families with teen'drivers. Driver's Education classes teach teens the basics of driving a car. This seminar is designed to go more in depth on ways to be a safe, conscientious driver. Teen drivers' and a par- r eta or parents were invited to attend this seminal where they ]earned about the PRIVILEGES, RESPONSIBILEf1ES SAND CONSEQUENCES of drip -ing. 'fhe seminar covered risk factors for teens, an overview iew of the graduated licensing program, parentis] inVolv cMcnt, the golden rules to follow when you are stopped by the police, and DL'I prevention for both teens and their par - eiits: Traveling Educational Classes - Increased number of educational classes that travel around the community presenting crime prevention topics. Officers have been requested to present inli�r- tgatron and conferences and meetings all over the state. These travelibg education classes give officers an opporiunity to improve their public speaking and presentation skills positivcl� promoting the City of Lino Lakes.
