Jay Squires and Joe <br />Langel do a great deal of work in land use, land acquisition, public contracting, and <br />construction disputes. Margaret Skelton does a significant amount of work in public sector <br />labor and employment law. All of our attorneys practice general municipal law. <br />Based on the fact that our firm is almost entirely devoted to representing local <br />governments, we have access to, and use, abundant resources regarding public sector law. <br />We are members of several law organizations devoted to representing local governments, <br />such as the International Municipal Lawyers Association, the Minnesota Association of City <br />Attorneys, and the American Bar Association State and Local Government Section. Each of <br />these organizations provides us with access to resources that are focused on the legal needs <br />and concerns of local governments. <br />Our firm is organized as a professional corporation, with a typical law firm <br />organizational structure: <br />President <br />I <br />Shareholders <br />Associates <br />Law Clerk <br />Office <br />Manager <br />I <br />Admin. <br />Assistant <br />I <br />Secretaries <br />Bookkeeper <br />In terms of work flow, the shareholder typically communicates with the City and <br />then, depending on the nature of the issue, will either handle the matter himself or herself, <br />or enlist the services of an associate or the law clerk. The Firm strives to make the most <br />efficient use of the client's financial resources when providing legal services. <br />(ATTORNEY QUALIFICATIONS <br />Joseph Langel would be the primary attorney responsible for the day -to -day <br />management and administration of a contract with the City, with Jay Squires providing legal <br />services in Joe's absence. <br />2 <br />
