The ACHD Engineering Plan Review process will apply to this development. Based upon the
number of lots within this development, the construction of a NB CR 53 right turn lane and a
SB CR 53 left turn lane (or possibly a SB CR 53 bypass lane) will be required to be
completed by the developer/City in conjunction with this development. Calculations must also
be provided along with a grading and erosion control plan that delineates the drainage areas
for this site. The post -development rate/volume of runoff must not exceed the pre -developed
rate/volume of runoff for the 10-year, critical design storm. County Ditch #32 is located in the
Rice Creek Watershed District, and the City/developer should coordinate drainage/discharge
affecting the county ditch with the Rice Creek Watershed District. An ACHD Engineering
Plan review fee of $450.00 will apply to this project. Contact Gina Pizzo, Engineer III, at
763.862.4248, email: Gina.Pizzo ckco.anoka.mn.us with any questions and to coordinate the
ACHD Engineering Plan Review process. Please submit the drainage calculations, grading and
erosion control plans, the ACHD Design Requirements list for County highway Modifications (copy
available via our web site), and the applicable engineering plan review fee to Ms. Pizzo for her review
and approval.
Once the ACHD Engineering Plan Review Process has been completed, the ACHD Permit process can
begin. An ACHD Permit to Work within the county ROW will be required and must be obtained by
the contractor completing the work prior to the commencement of any construction activity within the
county right of way (Permit for Work within County ROW=$150.00). License Permit Bonding,
methods of construction, work zone traffic control, restoration requirements and follow-up inspections
are typical elements of the permitting process. Once all necessary City and county approvals have
been obtained, the contractor can contact Terri Vaughan, Traffic Engineering Technician, at
763.862.4239, email: Terri.Vaughangco.anoka.mn.us for further information and to coordinate the
ACHD Permit process.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment.. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding
this review.
Sincerely,
Jane K.
