Implementation <br />To implement the land use plan, the City will consider the following implementation measures, <br />which were developed from strategies identified during the Visioning and Comprehensive Plan <br />process: <br />To create a unified vision and future for the city, promote a well - planned community, and <br />prevent fragmented development (Goal 1), the City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Adopt by formal action a new Growth Management Policy <br />To ensure consistency between official controls and the Comprehensive Plan (Goal 2), the City of <br />Lino Lakes will: <br />• Update the zoning map to eliminate inconsistencies with the land use map. <br />• Update ordinances for consistency with Comprehensive Plan policies <br />• Develop design standards to ensure high quality residential, commercial and <br />industrial development in the community <br />• Create a method of providing incentives, such as density bonuses and fee <br />reductions, for development projects that achieve specific goals in the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />To ensure housing development is compatible with existing and adjacent land uses and provides <br />accessibility to key community features and natural amenities (Goal 3), the City of Lino Lakes <br />will: <br />• Establish guidelines for the appropriate inclusion of green spaces, paths, <br />sidewalks, and other people oriented amenities throughout the city. <br />• Revise ordinances to provide appropriate screening and buffering standards to <br />mitigate impacts of adjacent commercial and industrial properties on residential <br />areas. <br />To maintain safe neighborhoods and community areas (Goal 4), the City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Coordinate with City police and fire departments as growth occurs in Lino Lakes <br />to ensure that resources are in place to adequately serve the community. <br />To expand housing choices in the community (Goals 5 and 6), the City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Streamline permitting and development processes to ease the rehabilitation or <br />improvement of existing homes and reduce unwarranted cost impacts on the <br />price of entry-level homes. <br />• Work with the Anoka County HRA to meet the community's life -cyle and <br />affordable housing needs. <br />• Complete a detailed citywide senior citizen housing needs study. <br />3 -28 <br />• <br />• <br />
