• <br />• <br />• <br />To increase commercial /residential mixed -use development throughout the community (Goal 7), <br />the City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Improve the design standards for commercial developments so they are more <br />attractive, user friendly, and integrated into the surrounding neighborhoods and <br />adjacent areas. <br />To promote community involvement in the development process and city affairs (Goal 8), the City <br />of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Provide ample opportunities for community involvement and input for planning <br />projects within the city through citizen advisory groups, public open houses, <br />other stakeholder meetings, and surveys. <br />• Continue to provide updates on development and planning projects in the City's <br />newsletter. <br />• Use the City's website to provide information and obtain input on planning and <br />development projects in the city. <br />To sustain the community's natural resources (Goal 9), the City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Create design guidelines for new development that are intended to sustain Lino <br />Lakes' unique natural features. <br />To mitigate the impacts of development and redevelopment on natural resources (Goal 9), the <br />City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Establish a wetland /stormwater credit banking program <br />• Adopt the Resource Management System Plan <br />• Adopt a Resource Management Plan Rule <br />• Update natural resource protection standards in ordinances <br />To promote a unified community identity (Goal 10), the City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Create design standards to strengthen and maintain the appearance of the city's <br />gateways and key transportation corridors <br />To promote maintenance of the existing housing stock (Goal 11), the City of Lino Lakes will: <br />• Enforce necessary codes to ensure the continued compliance and maintenance of <br />the existing housing stock. <br />• Explore methods and options to promote the improvement of the existing <br />housing stock, and to encourage the rehabilitation or redevelopment of <br />substandard housing <br />To successfully coordinate transportation with land use planning (Goal 12), the City of Lino Lakes <br />will: <br />• Review the fully integrated comprehensive plan, which includes coordinated land <br />use and transportation plans, biannually to provide a rationale for transportation <br />and land use decisions. <br />3 -29 <br />
