CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION 2 August 18, 2008
DRAFT
1 The council discussed the possibility of having two amendments on the ballot. It could
2 cause confusion, whether or not the questions would be separated on the ballot is unclear,
3 and either question would require fifty -one percent to pass.
4
5 The council directed that the attorney prepare ballot language to represent both the citizen
6 petition amendment and the council ordinance amendment.
7
8 Administrator Heitke clarified that the communication plan for whatever is on the ballot
9 (as well as an explanation of the current charter) will be considered at a future meeting.
10
11 There was some discussion of the city budget impact of a change to the road
12 improvement process. The council would have the responsibility to address funding
13 within the budget.
14
15 The council agreed to add discussion of the DeHaven's subdivision request to the
16 September 2 work session.
17
18 The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
19
20 These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting
21 held on September 22, 2008
22
23
24 Julianne Bartell, City Clerk John Bergeson, Mayor
25
2
