MIMS
MEM
City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota
Management Report, Page 8
Due From Other Governmental Units
Included in Due From Other Governmental Units are various Federal and State Grants
Receivable that the City has earned as of December 31, 1985. The following schedule
details these amounts.
Description
December 31,
1985 1984
State:
Fines and forfeits $ 4,699 $ 4,973
Federal:
Community Development Block Grant 8,397 24,863
Federal Revenue Sharing 11,022 10,347
LAWCON 1,640 29,386
Local:
MWCC - Maintenance Agreement 5,108 3,610
Final cost allocation 4,095 2,240
City of Centerville -
Building Inspector Contract 360
Police contract 11,269 11,212
MWCC - SAC overpayment 421
Metro Council - Section 8 408
Total
$ 47,059 $ 86,991
The City currently receives approximately $14,000 annually in MSA maintenance
monies. The City also has available approximately $275,000 annually in MSA construc-
tion allotments. These construction allotments ordinarily can be used to finance
construction costs relating to MSA designated streets. Unused construction allotments
total approximately $544,000 at December 31, 1985. The City may be able to justify
and request up to 25% of such annual total allotments for maintenance purposes (i.e.,
25% of $289,000 or $72,250 per year). This could increase the total MSA receipts of
the City during periods in which the City does not have qualifying MSA construction
-' projects. We recommend that the City consider this option.
