• <br />• <br />• <br />PROCLAMATION <br />Homelessness Awareness Month <br />Whereas, the Anoka County Community Continuum of Care, along with the Heading Home <br />committee is sponsoring a unique, countywide education and awareness campaign to help end <br />homelessness in our shared communities. The month of November will mark the SLEEP OUT 2009, <br />Be Part of Something BIG, 2nd Annual Community Challenge; and <br />Whereas, the SLEEP OUT 2009 provides a unique opportunity for the City of Lino Lakes to join <br />forces with communities across Anoka County in an effort to promote education and awareness to help <br />end homelessness; and <br />Whereas, the Anoka County Community Continuum of Care and the Heading Home Anoka <br />committees play a vital role in bringing together the community and establishing needed partnerships <br />to support homelessness prevention efforts; and <br />Whereas, it is essential that all citizens of the City of Lino Lakes be aware of the importance of <br />homelessness prevention and the impact their participation can have on ensuring that all individuals <br />and families have access to a warm, safe place to call home in our community; and <br />Whereas, community partnerships, awareness, and the desire to provide warm, safe housing in our <br />community. These are the important themes of the SLEEP OUT 2009, Be Part of Something BIG, <br />2nd Annual Community Challenge. <br />Now, therefore, I, John Bergeson of the City of Lino Lakes, on behalf of the Lino Lakes City <br />Council, do hereby call upon all citizens of the City of Lino Lakes to join the Anoka County <br />Community Continuum of Care and Heading Home Anoka committee's in supporting The SLEEP <br />OUT 2009, Be Part of Something BIG, 2nd Annual Community Challenge during the month of <br />November. <br />Be it further resolved that the month of November is hereby proclaimed "Homelessness <br />Awareness" month in the City of Lino Lakes. <br />Proclaimed this 26th day of October 2009. <br />John Bergeson, Mayor <br />Julie Bartell, City Clerk <br />—45-- <br />
