Ir.HeadingHome <br />ANOKA <br />A regional initiative to end homelessness <br />Results of January 28, 2009 Anoka County Homeless Count: <br />HUD Definition: Chronically Homeless Individuals <br />Individual who was unaccompanied and homeless with disabling condition that has <br />either been continuously homeless for a year or more or has had at least 4 episodes of <br />homelessness in the past 3 year's. <br />o 69 People meet this definition of Homelessness <br />o 7 of these are youth ages 18-21 <br />o 17 of these are ages 17 or under <br />State Definition of Homelessness <br />"Those who have no permanent place to live." This could be conditions such as <br />doubling up, transitional housing, or a place not meant for human habitation. <br />o 247 Single Adults <br />o 272 Adults in Families <br />o 385 Children in Families <br />o 38 Minors Without an Adult (ages 17 or less) <br />o 54 Youth Without an Adult (ages 18 -21) <br />o 8 Senior Citizens (ages 62 or older) <br />The total number of people counted on January 28, 2009 in <br />Anoka County is 1,004 homeless, as defined by State definition. <br />Be Part of So ping BIG. <br />
