•
•
•
Memorandum
To: Cindy Sherman
From: Mary Divine
Date: 5/21/01
Re: Lino Lakes Marketplace comments
cc:
Jeff Smyser
John Powell
Brian Wessel
Mai Asleson
I would like to submit additional comments regarding the Lino Lakes Marketplace Site
Plan (updated 5/18/01).
1. Pedestrian linkages: The earlier site plan had a short sidewalk from the northern
entrance to the Kohl's building, and one along the west side of the Target parking lot
(which didn't seem particularly useful). In the new plan all sidewalks have been
eliminated. While we recognize that this shopping center is not designed for
pedestrian traffic, no opportunity exists to walk or bicycle into the site.
The intent has always been to have a pedestrian connection between the north and
south quadrants. Walking/biking paths are intended be a part of the Village and the
Lake Drive bridge reconstruction connecting the north and south side of the freeway.
There should be a sidewalk into the shopping center at Apollo Drive, with supporting
sidewalks up to the two anchors and into the retail areas.
There should also be a pedestrian link to the neighborhood to the north so residents
are not required to get in their car and drive around through the shopping center
entrance.
