She stated she supported the construction of <br />one home on the island but not seven. <br />Jeff Melby, Lot #8 Quail Ridge, stated the issue concerning the backhoe breaking through <br />the ice had occurred during the month of December. <br />Mr. Melby stated he had obtained a portion of the bedrock map from the United States <br />Geological Survey, which he provided a copy of to the Board. He noted the map depicted <br />the depth of the bedrock at an elevation of approximately 725 feet above sea level. He <br />stated he would be very surprised if the bedrock in this area is only 31 feet deep. He <br />indicated in other projects around the Twin Cities area the bedrock is found at a depth of <br />approximately 150 to 200 feet. <br />Mr. Melby expressed concern for the disruption the proposed <br />neighborhood. She stated she did not want to <br />prevent the applicant from developing his land, however, she felt he should only be <br />allowed to construct one home per the current zoning and the rezoning should not be <br />approved. <br />
