•TKDA
TOLTZ, KING, DUVALL, ANDERSON
AND ASSOCIATES, INCORPORATED
ENGINEERS • ARCHITECTS • PLANNERS
MEMORANDUM
1500 PIPER JAFFRAY PLAZA
444 CEDAR STREET
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA 55101 -2140
PHONE: 651 /292 -4400 FAX: 651/292 -0083
To: Jim Studenski Reference: Drainage Review for
Copies To: John Powell Russian Baptist Church
From: Stephen W. Hartley
Lino Lakes, Minnesota
Date: June 21, 2002 Commission No. 12475 -002
The following documents were used to review the Russian Baptist Church site plan:
4111 • TKDA's Review Memo dated May 1, 2002.
• HydroCAD Model dated May 30, 2002.
• Report of Subsurface Exploration and Geotechnical Review dated November 9, 2001.
• Plan Set dated and signed April 8, 2002, and revised May 31, 2002.
• Response Letter to City dated June 5, 2002.
After reviewing the above documents, I have the following comments. New comments are
shown in bold:
1. The 2 -year and 100 -year existing and proposed condition drainage computations have
been submitted. The 10 -year drainage computations also need to be submitted.
The 10 -year drainage computations have been submitted. The project will meet the
flow rate requirement for the 10- and 100 -year storm, but not the 2 -year storm. The
proposed condition flow rates are .2 cfs over existing conditions. The proposed
outlet is already a 4 -inch orifice. This really is the smallest practical size for an
orifice, otherwise clogging becomes an issue. Therefore, the slight increase in
discharge rate is acceptable.
2. Supporting information for the Curve Numbers and "Direct Entry" Time of
Concentrations computations need to be submitted.
Supporting information has been provided. All concerns have been addressed.
An Equal Opportunity Employer
