ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING September 26, 2012 <br />DRAFT MINUTES 3 <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated Amy Ulbricht and Amanda Lee from Anoka County Integrated <br />Waste have done quite a bit of calling to Lino Lakes businesses regarding <br />recycling. They have scheduled a few site visits to promote a recycling initiative <br />program. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated he has narrowed down two locations for recycling can cage <br />enclosures to go. The locations are Centennial Fire Station and Lino Park. Both <br />are located on Lake Drive. <br /> <br />The first monthly recycle day took place on September 16th, at Lino Park. <br /> <br /> Freimuth Enterprise reported the following recycle day totals: <br /> <br />Scrap Steel and Appliances: 16,840 lbs <br />Tires: 2,820 lbs <br />Electronics: 8,160 lbs <br />Bulbs: 260 <br /> <br />Larry Schatz, who recycles small engines, reported the following recycle day <br />totals: <br /> <br />Steel: 3,100 lbs <br />Aluminum: 379 lbs <br /> <br />There were approximately 25 bikes collected to be rebuilt. <br /> <br />Apogee Retail, LLC/collection of household goods reported the following recycle <br />day totals: <br /> <br />667 lbs. <br /> <br />It was stated that there were roughly 100 cars that came through on recycle day. <br /> <br />C. Goals Discussion for 2013 <br /> <br />Environmental Board goal discussion postponed until the October meeting. <br /> <br />D. Community Garden Update/Grant Submittal <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson submitted a grant request in the amount of $4,369.40 for the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. Expansion of water supply for 68 new plots. <br />2. Compost for existing and new plots.
