ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING JUNE 28, 2006 <br /> <br />2 APPROVED MINUTES <br />Motion by Ms. Norman to approve minutes with amendments and seconded by <br />Ms. Brouillet. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. OPEN MIKE <br /> <br />Open mike closed at 6:37 p.m. <br /> <br />5. ACTION ITEMS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Nature’s Refuge <br /> <br />Ms. Asleson requested feedback on joint board meeting with council. <br /> <br />Ms. Bor stated that we are moving in a new direction of different types of <br />development and natural space. The ordinances currently supporting development <br />were established with old development guidelines. We need to updated <br />ordinances to support certain types of development. <br /> <br />Ms. O’Dea stated that we do have a definition of conservation development in the <br />city. We may need to wait for new conservation developments. <br /> <br />Ms. Grundhofer stated that different developments could have different labels on <br />them. <br /> <br />Ms. Grundhofer asked when the city will be seeing EAW. Mr. Asleson said <br />maybe this month. <br /> <br />B. Stoneybrook Follow-up <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated that staff is spending more time on this project. Mr. Asleson <br />also stated that now is not the time to write a letter to the developer. Signage is <br />still being worked on. There will be additional signs going in. There are a lot of <br />encroachments in the conservation area. Mr. Asleson presented to the board for <br />review a drafted letter to send out in the next week or so. <br /> <br />Ms. Norman stated it is not good for homeowners to be allowed to keep their <br />gardens that are in the conservation area this year. Next year they will say they <br />can keep them as they have had them previously. <br />
