ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING APRIL 29, 2009 <br />The City of Lino Lakes Recycle Day will be held on May 2 from 9:00 a.m. to <br />3:00 p.m. Mr. Asleson stated volunteers would be appreciated. <br /> <br />Arbor Day <br /> <br />The Arbor Day celebration will take place on May 1st. This will be the 20th year! <br />An Autumn Blaze Maple will be planted at Lino Lakes Elementary. Trish and the <br />Toons will perform two shows at the school. Ms. O’Dea questioned if other <br />schools would be interested in having Trish and the Toons perform. Mr. Asleson <br />stated he has called other elementary schools with no interest. Ms. Andrzejewski <br />stated she will check with Rice Lake Elementary school to see if they would be <br />interested in 2010. <br /> <br />Emerald Ash Borer: <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated there has been report of emerald ash borer in Minnesota. <br /> <br />Water Resources Workshops Schedule <br /> <br />There will be a Raingardens Workshop at Lino Lakes City Hall on May 2. Ms. <br />DeHaven and Ms. Hartley will be in attendance. <br /> <br />Blue Herons <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated there are currently 19 herons that have been counted standing <br />on their nests this month. <br /> <br />Pheasant Hills Preserve <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated he was in attendance for a special meeting held by the <br />Pheasant Hills Preserve neighborhood association. He addressed stormwater <br />pond issues. He stated there were many questions asked. Overall it was a very <br />good meeting. <br /> <br />Living Green Expo <br /> <br />Ms. O’Dea stated that there will be a Living Green Expo at the MN State Fair <br />Grounds the first weekend in May. <br /> <br />Other Updates <br /> <br />-Mr. Brown was in attendance for the Shoreland Management Workshop. He <br />stated it was very informative for residents. <br /> <br />-Mr. Brown stated there were many Eagles on Lake Reshanau during the spring <br />thaw. <br />4 DRAFT MINUTES
