Mr. Hayes stated the theme they wanted to
start with was like the Blaine Village and expand from there.
Mr. Root stated The Village did not have a residential component. Mr. Hayes stated he
realized that and they tried to buffer the residential area with a lot of green space. He
stated this again was a detail plan decision and they had done this in other projects, which
had been well received.
Mr. Nelson asked if they were planning the waterway and the bridge as a transition area
between the residential areas and the commercial areas. Mr. Hayes replied that was the
intent to create a transition in the project both functionally and visually. He noted they
were looking forward on working on the details of this project.
Chair Rafferty asked if they were going to go into an in depth study at the Special
meeting. Mr. Hayes replied the purpose of the meeting was to go in depth on the
language and determine if it met a change to the Comprehensive Plan.
Chair Rafferty believed it would be more appropriate to continue this discussion to the
September 27 special meeting due to the lateness of the hour. He requested if possible
the special meeting be televised. Mr. Smyser replied he would check with the video
technician's availability.
Mr. Smyser asked the Board to concentrate only on the Comprehensive Plan amendment
issues at the special meeting.
The Board continued the public hearing for Comprehensive Plan Amendment for Village
of Hardwood Creek to the Special Planning and Zoning Board Meeting on September 27,
2005.
Mr. Tralle made a MOTION to continue the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the
September 27, 2005 Special Planning and Zoning Board meeting and was supported by
Mr. Pogalz. Motion carried 6 -0.
VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. Requiring Sidewalks in subdivisions
DRAFT MINUTES
