•
•
Memorandum
To: Planning and Zoning Board
From: Paul F. Bengtson, Associate Planner
Date: October 12, 2005
Re: Legacy at Woods Edge Projects
Staff is recommending a condition change from what is currently included in
the staff report regarding lighting. After further review of the lighting
fixtures it was determined that the `gull wing' fixtures depicted on the plan
do meet the standards and are preferred by the developer. Staff is in
agreement with the developer in regards to the lighting fixtures and would
like to replace the recommended condition which currently reads:
The `gull wing' fixture (type EE and EE 1 as shown on sheet C4.1)
shall be changed to a shoebox fixture. This fixture type will need to
be approved by staff and used throughout the rest of the parking area
on this block, if not the rest of the project site.
With the following condition:
All parking lot lighting fixtures and poles shall be painted to
complement the city's decorative street lighting; shall be mounted to
round lighting poles measuring no more than twenty feet in height;
shall be mounted to a concrete base no higher than twenty four inches
above the surrounding grade; and shall be located within landscape
planter islands.
This will be necessary on all three Final Plan applications on the agenda.
Staff will bring this issue up during its presentation on each item and include
the condition change as part of the staff recommendation.
