The property owner raised the point that agriculture today is not what <br />agriculture used to be. <br />Board member comments included the following: <br />• There is a fine line between this type of use and the allowable uses for this zone. <br />It seems that it would be very easy for the current property owner to comply with the <br />existing conditions of an allowable use if they chose to. <br />• A trucking activity should not be considered a rural <br />lii�g�yy. <br />• A trucking business belongs in the business zone, <br />what product is being hauled. <br />ne, regardless of <br />• There are not many properties in the industrial zone at are large en tw d'r this type <br />of business. Where could the propert y owner relocate_ to? Does the ci ty --Want to lose <br />this business? <br />• Times change and the city should re- evaluate where it was and where it is now. The <br />city should consider that times do change and fertilizer is a necessary agricultural <br />product and this business does belong in the rural area <br />• If the use is allowed, it should be limited to trucking /transportation of agricultural <br />products to avoid conflict with businesses that sell items for agricultural uses and <br />other potential interpretations of the use <br />• <br />Rural does not necessarily mean agricultural. <br />S° noted .
