•
•
•
Environmental
Memo
To: Katie Larsen
From: Marty Asleson
Date: November 6, 2013
Re: Environmental Board Recommendations for Saddle Club Property
The following recommendations were made by the Lino Lakes Environmental Board
on October 30, 2013 concerning the Preliminary Plat/PUD proposal for the Saddle
Club:
• All Outlots should be deeded to City of Lino Lakes
• Outlots should be adjusted so that they capture the unique environmental
features and storm water treatment train features of the site. Property lines
should be reduced to avoid these features.
• All top soils that are removed from the buffer areas shall be returned to the
same site as much as possible after grading is done. The probable seed
bank in these soils cannot be purchased in a store, and a very valuable
resource on this development property.
• In order to not create any more barriers to the Blandings turtle or any nesting
turtle species it is recommended to install a lower profile curb similar to
Foxborough in the Saddle Club development.
• Conservation Easements are required over environmentally sensitive areas.
Since it is critical that new home owners know what the Conservation
Easement means, and why it is important that Conservation Easement is
there, the developer should produce a handout that gives the homeowner
information at the time of purchasing the property. The brochure must be
approved by the City.
• Page 1
