From: PETE WILLCOXON SR. [ mailto: pwilco @wbl.whitebear.k12.mn.us]
Sent: Thursday, February 12, 2009 11:06 AM
To: Michael Grochala
Cc: CYNTHIA MOORE; DAVE GUENTHER; ELSA POPE; JILL THELEN; KATHLEEN DANIELS; MICHAEL
LOVETT
Subject Re: Comprehensive Plan Comments
Michael:
On behalf of the White Bear Lake Area School District I thank you for giving us the opportunity to review
and comment on the Lino Lakes Comprehensive Plan.
I have viewed the plan and I am very impressed with its thoroughness. I concur with the community's #1
Goal (stated on page 9 -1): Maintain the first -class education that the children of Lino Lakes are
receiving, while also providing opportunities for additional education for adults.
Our District would concur that this goal is a priority and we make every effort to attain it. As of this school
year, we have revamped our middle school curriculum to include foreign language offerings. Next year
we will be changing our high school schedule to a six period day which will give our students more time
on task with our core programs while eliminating mandatory study halls.
Our District community service program offers a significant number of educational opportunities for
adults. We would be happy to sit down and discuss any additional programs that you feel would be of
interest to the community.
Thank you for the opportunity to reflect and comment on the comprehensive plan.
Pete Willcoxon Sr, CPA
Executive Director of Business Services
White Bear Lake Area School District ( #624)
Phone: (651) 407 -7516
FAX: (651) 407 -7514
