• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM V A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Smyser <br />P & Z MEETING DATE: January 10, 2007 <br />TOPIC: Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br />Hodgson Road/CR J Master Plan <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Board opened and closed the public hearing and then tabled this item at the December 13, <br />2006 meeting. We had a special work session on January 4 to discuss the study further. <br />At the December meeting, the Board decided to delete two paragraphs that would establish a <br />preference to have larger uses on the east side of Hodgson Road. Because the traffic study <br />concluded that a large use would not be supported by the road system, there should be no <br />preference for one on either side of Hodgson. Also, the "big box alternative" figure is to be <br />removed from the document for the same reason. In the 1/5/07 updated draft, the paragraphs to <br />be deleted are shown in strike out and shaded text (page 35) and the big box alternative has been <br />labeled "this figure to be deleted ". <br />The amendment of the Comprehensive Plan would include the Planning and Development <br />Objectives on pages 31 -36, the figures at the end of the document, and reference to the compelte <br />study document. These would be inserted into the Comprehensive Plan in the Planning District 4 <br />section. <br />With approval by the P & Z, the document will be revised to remove the parts described above. <br />The document and Comprehensive Plan amendment will go to the City Council for final action. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Recommend approval of Comprehensive Plan amendment to incorporate the updated <br />Hodgson/CR J Master Plan into the Comprehensive Plan. <br />2.
