Planning & Zoning Board
December 13, 2006
Page 9
individual developers want to do. He explained the reason for planning an area is to
determine the best coordinated development to serve the larger public.
Mr. Pogalz said he understands the master planning process and the vision, but has
trouble with the fact that a developer has proposed a plan and is ready to move ahead.
Board members requested to have an opportunity to see the proposed plan and if it would
have potential to work in this area. Mr. Nelson wanted to hear and learn more about the
access point.
Ms. Krall stated that a workshop session with the P &Z board to review the possibilities of
the plan could be beneficial. Ms. Krall stated that it should be in a workshop setting, not
a public hearing, that they could explain the alternatives and give a better understanding
of the possibilities for his area.
Board members proposed a work session for Thursday, January 4. Staff stated they
would confirm details with board members prior to the meeting. Mr. Tralle made it clear
that the board is choosing to hold a workshop to better educate themselves in order to
make a decision and not to favor a proposed development, and that he would conduct the
meeting as a work session.
Ms. Krall requested that Core Development should submit any revisions to city staff as
soon as possible.
Mr. Rafferty made a MOTION to table the Amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to
incorporate the Hodgson Road and County Road J Master Plan for the area around the
intersection of CSAH 49 /County Road J to the January 10, 2007 Planning & Zoning
Board Meeting. Motion was seconded by Mr. Laden. Motion carried 5 -0.
VI.
