• • • Public open houses will occur during Phase 3 and 4. The required public hearing on the draft plan will be held at the end of Phase 4. In addition to the public open houses, information will be available on the City's web site. We plan to post all work on the website as it is completed. We will supplement this with newsletter articles and press releases. Approximately 1 year has been added to the process from what was originally anticipated. This is due in part to the timing of the completed visioning process and increasing public participation in the process. The Comprehensive Plan Update process will commence with a kick -off meeting on March 7, 2007. This meeting will include the City Council, all advisory board members, and the advisory panel. Representatives from other governmental agencies will also be invited. The purpose of the meeting is to review the planning process, the schedule, and an executive summary of existing conditions/background report. The Rice Creek Watershed District will also be presenting an overview of the Resource Management Plan component of the process. The first advisory panel meeting is proposed for March 21st The attached diagrams illustrate the makeup of the advisory panel and the planning process. On the public participation process diagram, the yellow line represents how the issues and draft documents will be brought to the various boards and City Council for discussion and recommendations as the project proceeds.
