The community indicated a strong preference for
neighborhood scale commercial centers. The Comforts of Home / CORE proposal offers
this. In addition to the proposed retail / service establishments desired by the community,
the proposed grocery store is consistent with the community's shopping preferences as
revealed through the survey.
3. Senior Living. The community survey shows that the City's residents believe there are
too few senior living housing options. The development of Comforts of Home will
address the need for quality senior housing accommodations.
Utilities
The Comforts of Home / CORE proposed development will bring sanitary sewer and public
water to an area that is not currently served by infrastructure. This infrastructure will serve the
Site, provide infrastructure that is necessary to achieve redevelopment of distressed properties,
and make infrastructure available to the remainder of the Study Area.
Conclusion
CORE Development Services looks forward to working with the City Council, Planning
Commission and City staff to realize a shared vision for the Comforts of Home development.
While we are excited about the opportunity to pursue a mixed -use community within the City,
we are equally pleased to assist the City in achieving several important regional benefits relating
to transportation, utility infrastructure and life -cycle housing.
Pete J.
