• AGENDA ITEM VI B STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Smyser P & Z MEETING DATE: October 10, 2007 TOPIC: Discussion: Update, 49 /Co Rd J Signalization BACKGROUND As you know, we have been working with other jurisdictions to signalize the intersection of Hodgson Road and Co. Rd. J. The plans are complete and the actual contracting and construction work will be managed and /or performed by others. Anoka County prepared the road plans. Ramsey County prepared the signal plans and will mill and repave the roads in the vicinity of the intersection. The City of Shoreview will act as the contracting jurisdiction to hire a contractor to install the signals. Shoreview also is contributing a significant amount of the costs of the project, for which we are grateful. In fact, the two counties and Shoreview are bearing the design and capital costs for the project. Lino Lakes will be responsible for costs of electricity for the signals. We had hoped that the signals would be installed in 2007. However, as explained in the attached letter from Ramsey County, the signals will not go in until 2008. This is because Ramsey County funding does not exist in its 2007 budget for the road work. While this is unfortunate, the project will be budgeted for 2008 and so we can look forward to signal installation next year.
