IWM would like to suggest that the Lino Lakes Environmental Board send a letter to the businesses in Lino Lakes explaining the interest in improving recycling and in order to gather more information someone will be contacting them to complete a survey. IWM has a recycling assistant available to make survey calls to businesses using a list provided by the city. Being mindful of not taking up too much time when conducting the survey it would be short. The recycling assistant will request the business complete the survey while on the phone. If a business would prefer to do the survey online the same survey questions will be set up in Survey Monkey. The recycling assistant will request an email address to send them a link to complete the survey. The draft survey also includes introductory text that would be read by the recycling assistant when making the calls. This introductory text would be changed slightly for the online survey, but also provide explanation of why we are conducting the survey. Attached are draft survey questions for review and comments. The questions are arranged with a set of questions for those that answer yes to the first question, "Do you recycle at your business ?" Then there is another set of questions for those that answer no. Recommendation: Consider writing a letter to Lino Lakes businesses on improving recycling and introducing the survey that will be conducted by Anoka County IWM staff to gather baseline information on the current recycling habits.
