Oh, where do we start? Maintenance projects during an extremely busy April have included: o Completed equipment changeover (ex. JD 6410 removed plow equipment and winter tires, put on turf tires and land pride mower). o Stored winter equipment (delivered to water towers and well houses). o Equipment maintenance — Changed fluids, greased, changed mower blades as needed. o Began mowing city parks and athletic fields. o Prepped nursery area for bare root tree order. o Assisted Forestry Department with boulevard tree pruning. o Burned native prairie areas at Behm's Park and Town Center. o Tree spaded trees from Town Center nursery area into Sunrise Park (8 Red Oaks, 2 Green Ash). o Emptied garbage cans at all City Parks. o Installed dock at Country Lakes Park. o Graded gravel parking lots at Country Lakes Park, Sunrise and City Hall Parks. o Assisted Environmental Department with Earth Day. (Delivered and picked up picnic tables and supplies) o Installed park bench at Pheasant hills Park, mounted to existing slab next to playground. o Irrigation systems turned on and repairs as needed. o Birchwood Acres Park — Removed backstop and players benches. Attended pre -con meeting, northern portion of park to be regraded, irrigation installed, park seeded, backstop and skinned infield to be installed. o Ball field pre- season inspections. o Ball field maintenance — dragging infields twice weekly to keep infields smooth. Cut -in and painted fair /foul lines. o Ball field game preparation began Sunday, April 24. Daily preps include hand raking around bases, batters boxes and rubber, grooming infield, chalking base lines and batters boxes, placing bases, leaving game balls in base boxes and policing bleachers and bench areas for garbage.
