Oh, where do we start? <br />Maintenance projects during an extremely busy April have included: <br />o Completed equipment changeover (ex. JD 6410 removed plow equipment and winter <br />tires, put on turf tires and land pride mower). <br />o Stored winter equipment (delivered to water towers and well houses). <br />o Equipment maintenance — Changed fluids, greased, changed mower blades as needed. <br />o Began mowing city parks and athletic fields. <br />o Prepped nursery area for bare root tree order. <br />o Assisted Forestry Department with boulevard tree pruning. <br />o Burned native prairie areas at Behm's Park and Town Center. <br />o Tree spaded trees from Town Center nursery area into Sunrise Park (8 Red Oaks, 2 Green <br />Ash). <br />o Emptied garbage cans at all City Parks. <br />o Installed dock at Country Lakes Park. <br />o Graded gravel parking lots at Country Lakes Park, Sunrise and City Hall Parks. <br />o Assisted Environmental Department with Earth Day. (Delivered and picked up picnic <br />tables and supplies) <br />o Installed park bench at Pheasant hills Park, mounted to existing slab next to playground. <br />o Irrigation systems turned on and repairs as needed. <br />o Birchwood Acres Park — <br />Removed backstop and players benches. <br />Attended pre -con meeting, northern portion of park to be regraded, irrigation <br />installed, park seeded, backstop and skinned infield to be installed. <br />o Ball field pre- season inspections. <br />o Ball field maintenance — dragging infields twice weekly to keep infields smooth. Cut -in <br />and painted fair /foul lines. <br />o Ball field game preparation began Sunday, April 24. Daily preps include hand raking <br />around bases, batters boxes and rubber, grooming infield, chalking base lines and batters <br />boxes, placing bases, leaving game balls in base boxes and policing bleachers and bench <br />areas for garbage. <br />
