• <br />Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation <br />Department <br />Program Highlights - <br />May Park Board Update <br />YOUTH <br />Youth Instructional: Many of our youth instructional programs are winding <br />down for the season and will resume again in the fall - these include <br />Soccer Mini Camp, Floor Hockey Mini Camp, and Toss, Kick and Catch. Others, including Dance and Tae <br />Kwon Do will continue through the summer months with a break in August. <br />Summer Playground Program: Four of seven playground sites are full: Birch Park Morning and Afternoon <br />Sessions, Clearwater Creek Park Afternoon Session, and Sunrise ParkAfternoon Session. Those sites that still <br />have spaces include: Sunrise Park Morning Session, Behm's ParkAfternoon Session, and Highland Meadows <br />Afternoon Session. At this time a total of 318 participants are enrolled in the Summer Playground Program and <br />we hope to increase this number over the next couple of weeks before the program starts on June 13. <br />T -Ball: 3 -year old T -Ball started May 10 - 14 participants are in this session. 4 -year old T -Ball started May 10 - <br />23 participants are in this session. 5 & 6 -year old T -Ball started May 9 - 27 participants are in this session. <br />Golf: Lessons started May 3. We have 10 participants in this session. <br />ADULT <br />ammunity Outings: We've been able to maintain a fairly consistent, but small, number of attendees for our one - <br />day Community Outings. We have also been able to maintain a small following on our extended day trips as well <br />- the most recent trip being a three -day House on the Rock trip. <br />Fitness: We will be starting our summer session fitness programs early next month. They will include Slim <br />Express, Maintenance Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and Ball and Band Fitness. All classes will run from early June to the <br />end of July, as our instructor takes her break during the month of August. <br />Softball: Adult Softball leagues have started. We have Men's leagues on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. <br />Our Co -Rec. league is on Sundays. <br />Golf: Lessons started May 3 and May 4. We have 16 participants <br />taking lessons. <br />RECREATION REVIEW & EMPLOYMENT <br />Recreation Review: The summer edition of the Recreation <br />Review went out at the end of this month. Programs in this <br />edition included those that were advertised in our spring <br />brochure and still had openings, new trips and outings for <br />youth and teens and our popular Fall Soccer and Youth <br />,kie football programs. <br />Employment: All of our summer positions have been filled. <br />Staff training begins June 7. <br />Questions?
