• 2005 Summer Playground Program Report "Come join the fun this summer! Elementary-age children (ages 5 -11) are invited to join us at the playgrounds for some sensational summer fun! Theme weeks, arts -n- crafts projects, specialist programs and games are just a sampling of the activities that will be taking place. Program also includes two individual park parties: the Independence Day Party and the Finale!" The above description is what appeared in our spring and summer Recreation Reviews to advertise our Summer Playground Program this year. Registration began in late February and by March we were turning some away because a few of our sites had already filled. The Summer Playground Program has been around for several years and has become a summer tradition for many children. In this report you'll find some of the highlights from this summer including program hours and locations, registration totals, themes, specialists, parties and staff. HOURS, LOCATIONS, & REGISTRATION TOTALS Morning Program Days /Dates: Monday — Friday, June 13 — August 4, No program July 4 (8 weeks) Hours: 9:00 a.m. — Noon Locations: Birch Park and Sunrise Park Afternoon Program Days /Dates: Monday — Friday, June 13 — August 4, No program July 4 (8 weeks) Hours: 1:00 — 4:30 p.m. Locations: Behm's Park, Birch Park, Clearwater Creek Park, Highland Meadows Park and Sunrise Park Registration Totals (Maximum per site: 50) • Birch Park Morning Program: 53 participants (50 Lino Lakes Residents, 3 Centerville Residents) • Sunrise Park Morning Program: 44 participants (29 Lino Lakes Residents, 12 Circle Pines Residents, 2 Lexington Residents, 1 Other) • Behm's Park Afternoon Program: 50 participants (44 Lino Lakes Residents, 3 Circle Pines Residents, 3 Other) • Birch Park Afternoon Program: 49 participants (49 Lino Lakes Residents) • Clearwater Creek Park Afternoon Program: 46 participants (37 Lino Lakes Residents, 7 Centerville Residents, 2 Other) • Highland Meadows Park Afternoon Program: 49 participants (42 Lino Lakes Residents, 5 Other, 1 Circle Pines Resident, 1 Forest Lake Resident) • Sunrise Park Afternoon Program: 51 participants (39 Lino Lakes Residents, 9 Other, 3 Circle Pines Residents) T- Shirts All participants enrolled in the Summer Playground Program received a program t -shirt. Although it was not required, these shirts were worn often.
