• <br />Park Board Meeting - October 3, 2005 <br />Minutes <br />Rick stated additional information regarding constructions costs, <br />land values, etc. will be needed to determine what park <br />dedication credit will be given should a public trail be <br />constructed by the developer. Staff recommends that any excess <br />dedicated parks funds derived from the Pine Glen Development be <br />designated for future enhancements at Lino Park. <br />Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Pat Huelman, indicating <br />the Park Board recommends placing a public paved trail within the <br />right -of -way on Dupont Avenue, from Street A west to Della Lane, <br />to Lino Park with a trail corridor in the middle of the <br />development for an additional access. The motion was approved. <br />DETERMINE SKATING RINK LOCATIONS AND HOURS: <br />Rick advised staff is recommending the following warming house <br />shelters and hours of operation: <br />PARK LOCATION WEEKDAY HOURS WEEKEND HOURS <br />Sunrise 6918 Sunrise Drive 4 -9pm (M -F) Saturday 12 -9pm <br />2 hockey rinks and general skating Sunday 12 -6pm <br />Birch Park 6520 Pheasant Run 4 -9pm (M -F) Saturday 12 -9pm <br />1 hockey rink and general skating Sunday 12 -6pm <br />• City Hall 1189 Main Street 4 -9pm (M /W /F) Saturday 12 -9pm <br />Hockey rink and general skating Sunday 12 -6pm <br />Staff also recommending the following ice rink locations that do <br />not have shelters: <br />Lino Park 7850 Lake Drive <br />General Skating <br />Rick stated limited hours have been added for a supervised <br />warming house at City Hall Park. Staff has received several <br />requests to again provide a warming house on the north side of <br />the City. Staff will evaluate participation numbers after the <br />upcoming winter season and report back to the Park Board. <br />The Park Board indicated they were in agreement with the staff <br />recommendation regarding skating rink locations and hours. <br />REVIEW 2005 SUMMER PLAYGROUND REPORT: <br />Rick advised referred to the 2005 Summer Playground Report <br />prepared by Ms. Liz Benoit, Recreation Supervisor. He stated the <br />Summer Playground Program was very successful, ran very smoothly <br />and was enjoyed by 342 participants. <br />• Rick advised that the General Fund funding for the Summer <br />Playground Program has been eliminated for next year. <br />3 <br />
