Throw <br />at the Family <br />r y Shoot. <br />Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation <br />Department <br />Program Highlights - <br />Novem ber Park Board Update <br />YOUTH <br />Youth Instructional: Many of our youth instructional programs are <br />winding down for the season. Toss, Kick and Catch, Floor Hockey <br />Mini Camp, Fastpitch Pitching, Basket "Have a Ball" and Soccer Mini Camp all end this month. Dance and Tae <br />Kwon Do will be ending just before the holidays next month. All programs will take a break in late December and <br />resume again in January after winter break. <br />SPECIAL EVENTS <br />Family Turkey Shoot: The 8th Annual Family Turkey Shoot was held on Saturday, November 12 at Centennial <br />Middle School. 153 adult /child teams participated in this years event - our second highest total ever! 35 <br />volunteers from Centennial High School National Honor Society, Centennial High School Student Council and <br />Forest Lake High School National Honor Society helped with the event this year and did a fantastic job! This <br />years sponsors were Lino Lakes State Bank, Circle Pines Lexington Lions, Forest Lake Area Athletic <br />Association and Lino Lakes Lions. Special thanks to all of our sponsors fortheir wonderful financial donations. <br />This years winners were as follows. 1st place 11 -14 year olds: Adam and Dan Nelson; 2nd place 11 -14 year olds: <br />Briza and Brian Bohne; 1St place 7 -10 year olds: Jared and Scott Kaul; 2nd place 7 -10 year olds: Ryley Found <br />and Derek Johnson; 1St place 4 -6 year olds: Meghan and Laura Welch; 2nd place 4 -6 year olds: Mitchell and <br />MErol Hanson; Random Drawing Winners: Michael and Rich O'Dea, Julie and Jim Donnelly, Jacob and Mary <br />helling, Rachel and Brent Larson, Zach Sandbakken and David Beatty, Curtis and Jan Nelson. <br />Congratulations to all winners! <br />Breakfast with Santa: Breakfast with Santa event is fast approaching. Registration is a little slower than <br />previous years, but I am confident the event will fill now that the holiday season has officially begun. Currently, <br />168 people are registered and we can accept 200. <br />ADULT <br />5- Player Basketball: We have 10 Mens Basketball teams signed up to play in the Wednesday Night Basketball <br />League this season. Games will start on Wednesday, December 7. <br />Open Basketball: Open Basketball started on November 14, we had 25 participants on opening night. <br />Open Volleyball: Open Volleyball starts this Friday, December 2. <br />BROCHURE & WARMING HOUSES <br />Brochure: Our winter brochure is now out and on the web. <br />Check it out atwww.ci.Iino- lakes.mn.us. While you're there, <br />check out our on -line registration too! <br />Alarming Houses: Warming House interviews and staff <br />acements are being finalized, we will staff three shelters this <br />year: Sunrise Park, Birch Park and City Hall Park. <br />Questions?
