C 1 T Y';: �,` O F IN i KE Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department 600 Town Center Parkway Lino Lakes, MN 55014 (651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 www.ci.lino- lakes.mn.us November 28, 2005 TO: Park Board Members FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor SUBJECT: November Park Maintenance Update Maintenance highlights during the month of November have included: • Mowing and weed whipping as needed. • Garbage collection. • Mowed trail edges. • Swept trails (removed leaves and other debris). • Soccer and football field maintenance: Aerated, top dressed and over seeded worn areas, some additional seeding will need to be completed in the spring. • Highland Meadows playground: Pressure washed and cleaned up paint that was applied by vandals. • Site prepped and hand seeded prairie area at Town Center site. • Moved 3 large trees with tree spade at Legacy project site. • Trapper's staircase: Repaired large washout next to staircase (caused by bicycles and erosion). Fill from top of hill washed downhill onto staircase. Work included filling washout, seeding slope and installing erosion control blanket down the slope. • Regraded hockey and pleasure rinks at City Hall and Lino Parks. • Winterized, serviced and stored summer maintenance equipment. (Proline mowers, mower decks, Cushman, etc.) • Equipment maintenance and changeover: Serviced units and installed snowblowers, plows, and brooms. • Removed dock at Country Lakes Park (dock is stored on site out of the water). • Assisted Recreation Department: Stored Turkey Shoot equipment and football blocking dummies. • Hockey rink inspections and repairs (replaced broken boards, fixed gates, checked rink lights). • Shoveled sidewalks and applied chemicals as needed at Senior Center, Town Center, and Fire Station. • Prepared warming houses for skating season. • Ordered trees and shrubs for spring planting projects.
