C 1 T Y';: �,` O F <br />IN i KE <br />Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department <br />600 Town Center Parkway <br />Lino Lakes, MN 55014 <br />(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 <br />www.ci.lino- lakes.mn.us <br />November 28, 2005 <br />TO: Park Board Members <br />FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor <br />SUBJECT: November Park Maintenance Update <br />Maintenance highlights during the month of November have included: <br />• Mowing and weed whipping as needed. <br />• Garbage collection. <br />• Mowed trail edges. <br />• Swept trails (removed leaves and other debris). <br />• Soccer and football field maintenance: <br />Aerated, top dressed and over seeded worn areas, some additional seeding will <br />need to be completed in the spring. <br />• Highland Meadows playground: <br />Pressure washed and cleaned up paint that was applied by vandals. <br />• Site prepped and hand seeded prairie area at Town Center site. <br />• Moved 3 large trees with tree spade at Legacy project site. <br />• Trapper's staircase: <br />Repaired large washout next to staircase (caused by bicycles and erosion). Fill <br />from top of hill washed downhill onto staircase. Work included filling washout, <br />seeding slope and installing erosion control blanket down the slope. <br />• Regraded hockey and pleasure rinks at City Hall and Lino Parks. <br />• Winterized, serviced and stored summer maintenance equipment. (Proline mowers, <br />mower decks, Cushman, etc.) <br />• Equipment maintenance and changeover: <br />Serviced units and installed snowblowers, plows, and brooms. <br />• Removed dock at Country Lakes Park (dock is stored on site out of the water). <br />• Assisted Recreation Department: <br />Stored Turkey Shoot equipment and football blocking dummies. <br />• Hockey rink inspections and repairs (replaced broken boards, fixed gates, checked rink <br />lights). <br />• Shoveled sidewalks and applied chemicals as needed at Senior Center, Town Center, and <br />Fire Station. <br />• Prepared warming houses for skating season. <br />• Ordered trees and shrubs for spring planting projects. <br />Those are November's highlights, more to come in December. <br />sw /prkbrd/Mike/November 05 Park Update.doc <br />
