Park Board Meeting — May 1, 2006 <br />Minutes <br />• The May 1, 2006 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at 6:33 <br />p.m., by Chair Lindy. <br />• <br />Roll call was taken; members present were Pam Taschuk, Aaron Frederickson, Paul <br />Montain, Pat Huelman, Bill Kusterman and George Lindy. Members absent was Katie <br />Boyle. <br />Also present was Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director and Sandie Wood, Public <br />Services Department Office Manager. <br />Swear In Newly Appointed Park Board Members — Mayor Bergeson <br />Mayor John Bergeson swore in Pam Taschuk and Bill Kusterman as re- appointed Park <br />Board Members. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM MARCH 6, 2006: <br />Paul Montain made a motion to approve the March 6, 2006 minutes. Seconded by Pam <br />Taschuk and approved. <br />SETTING AGENDA: <br />There were no changes to the agenda. <br />OPEN MIKE: <br />No one was present for open mike. <br />REVIEW "THE PRESERVE" PRELIMINARY PLAT: <br />Rick indicated that "The Preserve" is a 52.56 acre (14.97 acres of upland) residential <br />development located southwest of Birch Park. The proposed development consists of <br />31 single family residential units. <br />Rick said there are internal trails proposed consisting of both boardwalk segments and <br />bituminous segments. He explained that Trail Segment A begins at Killdeer Drive and <br />extends directly south to Pheasant Run S (between Lots 1 and 2 of Block 5). This trail <br />segment consists of approximately 160' of boardwalk and 240' of bituminous trail. Rick <br />told members that Trail Segment B extends in an easterly direction from Trail Segment <br />A to Pheasant Run S (near Block 2, Lot 7). This trail segment consists of approximately <br />220' of boardwalk and 440' of bituminous trail. He went on to say that Trail Segment B <br />traverses through a conservation area that will restore /enhance several ecological <br />systems as part of the development process. <br />Mr. DeGardner said the Park Dedication fees amount to 31 Tots x $2,075 = $64,325. <br />Estimated construction costs of the trail (depending upon final design of the boardwalk) <br />are estimated to be $63,000. He told Park Board Members that the City will need to <br />work closely with the developer to finalize construction costs for the proposed trails to <br />ensure that we will not have to pay additional dollars for the trails within this <br />development. <br />1 <br />a <br />
